The words on a cabinet quotation
A kitchen page uses about a dozen words that nobody explains, and you are expected to already know them. Here is each one, in a line. None of these definitions was written for this page — every one is the sentence ALUMAX already uses when it applies the rule.
Materials and construction
What the cabinet is made of, and what decides that. Every one of these is set by how much water the position meets — not by the room's name and not by the price tier.
- Wet zone · dry zonealso moisture zone · exposure
- How much water this position actually meets — the six exposure zones of the shared vocabulary, dry interior through exposed exterior. The rule is keyed by exposure, not by room.
- Carcass柜体Badan kabinet
- The carcass system the exposure requires. It is decided by exposure alone — a premium finish does not imply a different carcass, and a value finish does not permit board where water stands.
- Aluminium carcass
- An aluminium carcass cannot swell, warp or rot, which is why the sink base defaults to one.
- P6also P6 MR board · moisture-resistant board
- P6 moisture-resistant furniture board — the value choice for dry and humid interior cabinetry. Moisture-resistant is not waterproof, which is why sink bases and wet zones step up to a water-resistant system.
- Plywood夹板
- Water-resistant plywood, for humid and higher-risk interiors — better tolerance of demanding interiors and project-specific conditions, with correct adhesive and edge detailing.
- ACPalso AquaGlass
- Aluminium composite panel, for splash and wet-risk positions. ACP is the honest construction spec; AquaGlass is the ALUMAX product name for the system built from it.
- Honeycomb
- Aluminium honeycomb panel — light, rigid and non-absorbent, for repeated moisture, higher water-risk and sheltered-outdoor locations.
- WPC
- Wood-plastic composite — the FLYHOME bathroom vanity line, made for long-term bathroom humidity, and the outdoor decking and cladding boards.
- SPC
- Stone-plastic composite rigid-core flooring, priced by area — supplied and installed, with the rate set by the plank grade, thickness and the floor preparation needed.
Prices and what they include
What a figure on ALUMAX is, and what it is not yet. A price changes name as it gets more certain, and the name tells you how much of your own site it knows about.
- Essential · Signature · Bespoke
- The three service levels. A tier buys finish, hardware and scope, not an exemption from exposure — a wet-zone requirement is mandatory at every level.
- Indicative · from-price
- A from-rate, for budgeting. Nothing about this client's site is known yet. It becomes a site-measured quotation once dimensions are taken on site, and a final quotation against the approved drawing.
- Quoted after measurement
- Genuinely bespoke. No repeatable rate can exist because a dimension, an engineering decision, a site condition or a supplier answer decides it.
- Ex-SST
- Every published figure is ex-SST, once, at the basket. That is a site-wide rule and not a per-line exclusion.

- HPL
- Seen on an ALUMAX page. No definition on record yet — ask and we will tell you plainly rather than write one here.
