1. Dry zone — board or plywood1. 干区——板材或夹板
Bedrooms, living rooms, dry kitchens, pantries, TV walls and office storage stay away from standing water and splash. This is where moisture-resistant board or plywood is the right, cost-effective choice. Plywood is stronger and more stable for tall wardrobes and long runs; board is the standard interior carcass. Either way, seal the cut edges — moisture-resistant board is not waterproof.卧室、客厅、干厨房、储藏间、电视墙和办公收纳都远离积水与溅水。在这里，防潮板或夹板才是正确且具性价比的选择。夹板更坚固、更稳定，适合高衣柜和长排柜体；板材则是标准的内部柜体结构。无论选哪种，都要密封切口边缘——防潮板并非防水。

2. Semi-wet zone — seal the board, or step up2. 半湿区——密封板材，或升级用料
Areas near a sink, splash-prone runs, or rooms with on-and-off damp sit in between. Upgraded board or plywood can work here only with careful edge sealing and real ventilation. If the exposure is genuine — regular splash, frequent floor washing, constant humidity — step up to aluminium instead of relying on board. When in doubt, treat it as wet.靠近水槽的区域、容易溅水的柜段，或时干时湿的房间，介于两者之间。升级的板材或夹板只有在仔细密封边缘并有真正的通风时才适用。如果接触水汽是实实在在的——经常溅水、频繁冲洗地面、长期潮湿——就应升级为铝材，而非依赖板材。拿不准时，当作湿区处理。

3. Wet zone — aluminium3. 湿区——铝材
Sink bases, wet kitchens, bathrooms, laundries and anywhere with standing water or constant dampness are aluminium zones. No finish turns a wood-based board into a wet-zone board. Aluminium is water-, termite- and corrosion-resistant when it is properly specified, installed and maintained — that qualifier matters; it is not magic.水槽底柜、湿厨房、浴室、洗衣房，以及任何有积水或长期潮湿的地方，都属于铝材区域。没有任何饰面能把木基板材变成适用于湿区的板材。在正确规划、安装和维护的前提下，铝材具有防水、防白蚁和防腐蚀的性能——这个前提很重要；它并非万能。

4. Heat & sun exposure4. 高温与日晒
Sarawak heat is a year-round load, not a season. For aluminium framing this means thermal movement, so frames need correct sizing, expansion allowance and proper anchoring. For glass, ask about solar and tinted options that cut heat gain without making the room dark. Termites and damp-loving pests are a real Sarawak factor. Aluminium is termite-resistant because there is no wood for them to feed on, which is one more reason wet and high-risk zones move to aluminium. Wood-based zones carry the risk — most of all where board meets damp: a carcass against a damp external wall, an unventilated base cabinet, or board left in a wet zone it was never meant for.白蚁和喜潮虫害是砂拉越真实存在的因素。铝材防白蚁，因为没有木头可供它们啃食，这也是湿区和高风险区域改用铝材的又一个理由。木基区域则带有风险——尤其是板材遇潮之处：贴着潮湿外墙的柜体、不通风的底柜，或被留在本不该用它的湿区里的板材。
